I recently completed a fourth bookmark - this one in the Assisi style.

Assisi Autumn is a Tor Rhuann Designs freebie, stitched on sand colored 32 ct evenweave, over 2.  DMC 69 is the main color (Do they even make that anymore?) and the backstitching was done with scrap forest green of unknown manufacturer.

Very, very pretty! They still make 69. My LNS recently started carrying the variegated colors.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love it! This kinda makes me want to attempt some bookmarks myself :D

That's a nice one! I just got two booklets of bookmark charts over the last couple of days. *glee* Mustn't start any until I've finished my current project, though I'm itching to try the ones on perforated paper!

Do you have to do something to the edges of evenware to stop it fraying? I have aida cloth and wanted to stitch a bookmark, but don't know what to do with the edges ... or the back for that matter!

It looks really lovely, by the way!

I usually sew a zigzag stitch around any fabric I am stitching on.

I have been experimenting with different backing techniques with this series of bookmarks. (see earlier posts) This one is backless at the moment.

That turned out really great. I'm such a fan of variegated floss, and it looks especially wonderful with sweet, simple designs.

Very nice.

Sooo pretty! Lovely finish!

I keep telling myself that I'm going to try this technique - it looks so nice when finished- must do it!
